This Sunday, September 22nd, The Blue Ridge Inn and Willow Boutique in Wrightwood are sponsoring “Kick Off To ChemoWize”– the first annual fundraising event for this new, local, all volunteer non-profit organization dedicated to raising and granting funds to support Tri-Community breast cancer chemotherapy patients.
ChemoWize exists to enable these patients better cope with, manage and recover from the physical challenges that chemotherapy brings. The many long-term side effects include peripheral neuropathy (loss of sensation in hands and feet), chronic fatigue, cognitive problems, learning disabilities, vision problems, heart and kidney issues, liver disease, and infertility and secondary cancers.
ChemoWize awards grants for goods and services, most of which are not covered by insurance, that help combat these side effects such as detoxification programs and equipment, exercise programs and equipment, massage, reflexology, optometry, acupuncture, homeopathic and nutritional practitioners and supplements.
“Kick Off To ChemoWize” will take place this Sunday, September 22nd from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. As well as a choice of entrees from the three-course dinner, Informal Modeling, live music, a Silent Auction and a Raffle will be held for your enjoyment. Guest speakers include Ron Frank of Classic Homeopathy. Grants will also be awarded to Tri-Community residents
Georgeann Beck and Renee Burton Olson.
Our goal is to raise $5,000.
Contributions can be made online via the website, dropped off at Willow Boutique, 6025 Park Drive, Wrightwood or mailed to P.O. Box 429, Wrightwood, CA 92397.
Wrightwood Vintage Antiques & Oddities and Wrightwood Cyclery generously donated a 7-speed bicycle.
Thank you in advance for supporting our efforts to bring breast cancer survivors of the Tri-Community back to full health.
