Kelly’s Lot

What a Wonderful Night!
Music was made. Fun was had. Food was consumed. Drink was drunk (quite a lot actually!) and $$$ was raised – over $1200!

THANK YOU to Kelly & Perry of Kelly’s Lot for performing for us again, and to Aviva Maloney (clarinet, sax, flute and background vocals) and Jeff Zumkley (bass) for joining them.
We are grateful to our board of directors, especially Jenny Zumkley and our tireless volunteers – The Peterson Family, Joyce Wonderly, Kelley Foley & Terese Johnson.

A Great Big Thanks s to the Zumkleys for the use of their Lamborgini!

Kelly’s Lot (acoustic) & friends play house benefit concert in Wrightwood in aid of ChemoWize.

Many of you will remember enjoying Kelly’s Lot at last year’s Music In The Pines, where French blues artist Jeff Toto joined them on stage. Kelly’s Lot, a roadhouse rhythm and blues band founded by Kelly Zirbes and Alex Peterson, has been together for over 20 years and their numerous recordings played on many radio stations. Kelly’s Lot has toured regionally, nationally and internationally and have opened for artists such as Tommy Castro, Shemekia Copeland, Marcia Ball, John Mayall, Curtis Salgado & Don McLean.

“Be A Fool For Kelly & ChemoWize” takes place on Saturday, April 1st at The Peterson’s log cabin in Wrightwood. Joining the acoustic line up of Kelly Zirbes and Perry Robertson is Aviva Maloney on sax, keys and vocals. Kelly’s Lot (acoustic) will sing old favorites as well as perform tracks from their newest CD “Bittersweet”. A buffet dinner and dessert bar will be accompanied by an assortment of wines and beers courtesy of The Village Grind. 100% of the proceeds from this event will be donated to ChemoWize.

Tickets are $25 per and can be purchased from ChemoWize Corner – A Thrift Boutique, located at 1255 Apple Drive in Wrightwood. Two (maybe even three!) sets of music, a buffet dinner, dessert bar and one beverage are included.

Raffle tickets for the beautiful, classic, hand made quilt made and donated by Wrightwood’s own “Material Girls” will be sold. Currently on display in the window of ChemoWize Corner the quilt will be raffled off at the event. Raffle tickets are $5 per, 3 for $10 and 8 for $20 and are on sale at ChemoWize. Corner during business hours as well as at the Wrightwood Farmer’s Market in the Community Center on Friday evenings. The winner does not need to be present.
